I know that I promised to post this a few days ago but truthfully I am not even sure where the days went. Well here it is Thursday already and I am finally getting time to share my newest card with you. I was away this weekend spending some me time away and finally pulled myself away from the computer and work yes I know it was supposed to be me time. While I was on my Computer I had downloaded a Sweet Valentine Freebie designed by Krista Smith from Saturated Canary to Color and Make a card with. Krista had offered this Sweet New Digital Stamp for Free for 24 hours and it is now available at her Online Store Saturated Canary. Thank you again Krista for this Sweet Digital Stamp.
Since this is a Digital Stamp and I wanted to Color it using my Tim Holtz Distress Inks I cut a piece of Canson 140 lb Cold Press Water Color Paper down to 8 1/2″ x 11″ so it would run through my printer. Then I adjusted the printer settings to Photo Paper Matte Supreme so it would feed through the printer. I adjusted the size of my stamp to 4″ tall and once it was printed I sprayed it lightly with a great fixative by Krylon called Make it Last Clear Sealer. I like to Spray my Digital images with a fixative so the ink will seal and not smear into my coloring medium. Once it was dry I colored my image with my Distress Inks. Here is a close up of my finished image. I used Star Dust Stickles on the lace on the Hearts to make them Sparkle unfortunately my photo does not show the detail of how Pretty the Sparkle is.
Once I had finished coloring my image I cut her out using my Spellbinders Large Oval and matted her with Spellbinders Large Scalloped Oval using a Pink Cardstock from my Stash. I wanted a large card so I cut my Ivory Cardstock to 7″ tall x 11″ wide and score the cardstock in half to create a 5 1/2″ x 7″ Card Base. I cut a second layer 1/4″ smaller for the front out of the Pink Cardstock and then a third layer out of a pretty glittery Design Paper from DCWV out of their Preppy Princess Paper Pad. I cut another strip approx 3″ wide x 5 1/2″ long for my accent layer. You know me I Love Layers!! 🙂 I punched out 2 strips 5 1/2″ long using a Martha Stewart punch called Lace Heart Edge. I also cut out my Butterfly Accents using a New Die from Memory Box called “Butterfly Vine”. Be sure to watch our store we will be adding the Memory Box Die line Soon… Memory Box dies are very intricate Dies with lots of Wonderful Detail. I have a Special Tip to Share with you when you are using intricate dies or dies with alot of fine detail in them. When preparing your Die Cutting Sandwich for Thin Metal Dies place a piece of Wax Paper between the cutting side of your die and your Paper or Cardstock. Once you have cut out the die it will just fall out of the die with ease. I have a stack of Precut Wax Paper pieces that sits on my Die Cutting Station so I can just pick up a piece to use with my die.
Once I had all of my pieces cut out, I took all of the pink pieces and sprayed them with Crafters Companion Spray & Sparkle Iridescent Glitter. It adds a Beautiful layer of very fine glitter to your projects. Then once they were dry I assembled my Card Base with lots of pop dots to add dimension, (I also Love Lots and Lots of Dimension!!)and before adding my image to my card I created a Perfect Bow using My Brand New Tool that I designed and is being manufactured By Zutter called Stacy Nicholas’s “Bow-it-All” By Zutter. I took a Pretty Polka Dot Organza Ribbon and tied a Triple Loop Double Bow with a Back Ribbon so I could wrap it around my Card Front. I secured my Perfect Bow using Scor-Tape and then added my image to my Card.
I used my Glue Arts Glue Glider with a Perma Tac refill inside to add glue to the back of my card front and secured it down to my card base. Then I embellished my card with my Butterfly Vine Die cut which I cut into 3 pieces so I could use them in different Spots on the Card and of course I had to add Pearls, Lots and Lots of Pearls to my card. 🙂 Once I had finished My Hugs and Kisses and Bows card I wanted to add some Highlites so I used a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen and added the highlites to her eyes and to some of the Hearts.
I just Love how Sweet this card turned out and I hope you enjoy it too. Have a Terrific Day and Thank You so much for joining me on my Crafty Adventures.
