“To Have and To Hold” what a beautiful quote and so true for a wedding, it reminds us that someone will always be there throughout our lifetime for us to have and to hold onto in good times and bad. Today I have a new card to share with you, I created this card for a very special couple who will be celebrating their marriage this weekend.
For the card I used a 6″ x 6″ White Card Base, On top of the card base I added a White layer cut using Spellbinders New S6-031 Triple Flip Card Die. I Love this new Die it has so many creative options, it creates flaps and frames all in one cut. On the Top Flap I added a layer cut using Spellbinders S6-026 6″ x 6″ Matting Basics “B” Die#2 and Core’dinations White Wash “Watering Can” Textured Cardstock. On top of the layer I popped up one of the accent pieces from Spellbinders S5-034 Parisian Accents die set.
Under the first flap I cut a piece of designer paper using Spellbinders S6-026 6″ x 6″ Matting Basics “B” Die#4 and adhered it to the back of the frame layer, on top of the designer paper I popped up Spellbinders SCD-025 Pierced Hearts die#6, I stamped the heart using Tsukineko’s Encore Silver Ink and Spellbinders new stamp set “Save the date” using the Mr & Mrs stamp.
Under the next flap I added a Beautiful Flourish using Anna Griffins Flourish Medallion die cut in the white cardstock and backed the die cut and frame with Core’dinations White Wash “Watering Can” Textured Cardstock cut using Spellbinders S6-026 6″ x 6″ Matting Basics “B” Die#7. Next I added a frame border to the top of flap 2 and around the outer edge of the die cut.
Here is a little tip that will save you time and paper. When cutting the 2 frames and the backing piece for the frame on flap #2 cut all the dies at once by laying them on your cardstock in this order…
All the dies are from Spellbinders 6″ x 6″ Matting Basics “B” #S6-026
- Die #8 with die #7 inside (tape together to hold in place) this will create the large frame to go on the outer edge of the card front.
- Die #5 with die #4 inside (tape these two dies together to hold in place) this will create the frame to go around flap #2 and also creates the backing piece for flap #2. You will have 1 piece leftover set this aside to use on another project.
- Use die #2 to cut the front layer for flap #1 you can cut this out of a coordinating cardstock or paper or use the same one that you used for all of the other frames and backings.
For the inside of the card I Cut a Layer using Spellbinders S6-025 6″ x 6″ Matting Basics “A” Die #8 out of the Designer Paper, then I cut out the Words “To Have and To Hold” from Spellbinders Story of Us Die Set #SCD-027.
I embellished the card with Pearls from Want 2 Scrap and added a Doubled Layer 2 in 1 Bow that was created using the Bow-it-All V2.0.
